Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with bread flour for a chewier texture.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adds sweetness to the bread.
  • 1 tablespoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast Make sure it is fresh for best results.
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water Optimal temperature is around 110°F (43°C).
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Adds richness and flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix them thoroughly.
  2. Pour in the warm water and olive oil. Stir until the mixture comes together in a dough.
Kneading and Rising
  1. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  2. Place the kneaded dough into a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  3. After the first rise, punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Shape it into a loaf.
  4. Place the shaped dough into a greased loaf pan, cover it, and let it rise for another 20 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Once the dough has risen, bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store bread at room temperature in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat, wrap slices in foil and warm in the oven at 350°F (175°C).
