  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Soften at room temperature for easy blending.
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Reserve some for topping if desired.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  3. Mix in the sugar until fully incorporated, then add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased or lined baking sheet, leaving space between each.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best texture, do not overbake. You can customize flavors with nuts or different types of chocolate chips.
