Ingredients

For the cookie dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Ensure the butter is softened, not melted.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute half with almond flour for a nutty twist.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate chips for better flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Use a cookie scoop or spoon to drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading.
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cookies are light golden brown.
  3. Let the cookies sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Refrigerate the dough for up to a week or freeze individual balls for up to three months.
