Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients. Drain the tuna thoroughly and place it in a mixing bowl.
- Add the breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, shredded cheese, chopped green onions, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the bowl with the tuna. Mix until fully combined.
- With clean hands, shape the mixture into patties about the size of your palm. You should yield around 8-10 patties depending on size.
Cooking
- In a non-stick skillet, heat a couple of tablespoons of oil over medium heat. You want enough oil to just coat the bottom of the pan.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties into the skillet. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they turn golden brown.
- Once cooked, transfer the patties to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm, garnished with your favorite toppings!
Notes
Substitutions: Use whole-grain breadcrumbs for added fiber or non-dairy cheese for a vegan option. Ensure tuna is well-drained to avoid soggy patties.
