Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Halal ground beef can be used.
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 each egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). A hot oven will help to achieve that lovely golden exterior.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
  3. With clean hands, mix until all ingredients are well incorporated. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in tougher meatballs.
  4. Use your hands to scoop out portions (about 1.5 inches in diameter) and roll them into smooth balls. Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Once all meatballs are shaped, place them in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  6. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve with your choice of sauce, pasta, or as a meatball sub!

Notes

For variations, you can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef. Experiment with different herbs or spices as desired. Allow meatballs to cool before storing in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 3 months.
