  • 2 tablespoons tahini

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Maple syrup can be used for a vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adjust quantity according to spice preference.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Finely mince to avoid chunky bits.
  • to taste salt Salt Add according to taste.
  • Juice of 1 lemon Juice of 1 lemon Fresh lemon juice enhances flavor.

Preparation
  1. Gather your ingredients. Open the can of chickpeas, drain, and rinse them thoroughly.
  2. In a food processor, add the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, honey (or maple syrup), minced garlic, chili powder, and the juice of one lemon.
  3. Sprinkle a pinch of salt into the mixture. Adjust based on your taste preferences.
  4. Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a creamy consistency, about 1-2 minutes. If it’s too thick, add a bit of water or extra olive oil.
  5. Taste the hummus and add more chili powder or honey if needed for balance.
  6. Spoon the hummus into a serving bowl, garnish with toppings, and enjoy.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Can be frozen for up to three months. To rehydrate after refrigeration, add a splash of water or olive oil if needed.
