  • 6 slices slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 4 large large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Salt and pepper to taste For seasoning
  • 1 cup cooked sausage (halal-friendly), crumbled
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (such as cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Butter for cooking
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Flatten each slice of bread using a rolling pin to make rolling easier later.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the crumbled sausage and shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place a spoonful of the sausage and cheese mixture at one end of the flattened bread slice and roll it up tightly, pinching the ends to secure the filling.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter.
  6. Dip each roll in the egg mixture until well coated and place seam-side down in the skillet.
  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Once cooked, serve hot with a drizzle of maple syrup or your favorite topping.

Notes

Experiment with spices like cumin or garlic powder in the sausage for additional flavor. Ensure the skillet is preheated for optimal cooking results. Avoid overfilling the rolls to prevent spillage during cooking.
