Method
Preparation of Mousse
- In a bowl, melt the chocolate chips using a microwave or a double boiler method until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until well combined.
Preparation of Strawberries
- In another bowl, toss the chopped strawberries with sugar and let them sit for about 5-10 minutes to enhance their flavors.
Layering
- Grab your favorite glass or dessert cup and add a generous layer of chocolate mousse at the bottom.
- Top with a layer of the sweetened strawberries, followed by another layer of mousse.
- Repeat the layering process until the glass is filled, ending with a chocolate layer on top.
Garnishing
- Finish your parfait with extra strawberries on top and a sprinkle of crushed nuts for crunch.
Chilling
- Place your parfait in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, you can replace heavy cream with whipped coconut cream. Store in the fridge covered for up to 2 days; does not freeze well.
