  • 1 cup heavy cream Whipped until soft peaks form
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Melted for the mousse
  • 1/2 cup mousse Prepared from melted chocolate chips
For the Strawberries
  • 1 cup strawberries, chopped Fresh strawberries are best
  • 2 tablespoons sugar To sweeten the strawberries
For Assembly
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor
  • Extra strawberries for garnish Additional fresh strawberries for decoration

Method
 

Preparation of Mousse
  1. In a bowl, melt the chocolate chips using a microwave or a double boiler method until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until it forms soft peaks.
  3. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream until well combined.
Preparation of Strawberries
  1. In another bowl, toss the chopped strawberries with sugar and let them sit for about 5-10 minutes to enhance their flavors.
Layering
  1. Grab your favorite glass or dessert cup and add a generous layer of chocolate mousse at the bottom.
  2. Top with a layer of the sweetened strawberries, followed by another layer of mousse.
  3. Repeat the layering process until the glass is filled, ending with a chocolate layer on top.
Garnishing
  1. Finish your parfait with extra strawberries on top and a sprinkle of crushed nuts for crunch.
Chilling
  1. Place your parfait in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, you can replace heavy cream with whipped coconut cream. Store in the fridge covered for up to 2 days; does not freeze well.
