Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of milk and whisk until the mixture thickens and is smooth, approximately 2 minutes.
- Mix the teaspoon of vanilla extract into the pudding.
Layering
- In a large serving dish, layer half of the sliced strawberries at the bottom, followed by half of the pudding mixture, and a layer of sliced bananas.
- Repeat with the remaining strawberries, pudding, and sliced bananas. Garnish with any leftover strawberries.
Chill and Serve
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- After chilling, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs if desired.
Notes
For best results, use ripe fruits and assemble the layers close to serving time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
