Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds chicken wings Use fresh or thawed wings for best results.
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup For a richer flavor, opt for pure maple syrup.
  • 1/2 cup apple juice Apple cider can be substituted for a stronger flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Use halal soy sauce for a variation.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped green onions for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, apple juice, and soy sauce.
  4. Toss the chicken wings in the marinade until thoroughly coated. For extra stickiness, let them marinate for about 15 minutes.
  5. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack.
Cooking
  1. Bake the wings in the oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  2. For an even stickier finish, remove wings, toss in remaining marinade, and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes.
Serving
  1. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes for best results.
