Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Then, mix in the flour and salt, followed by the olive oil. Knead for about 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for approximately 30 minutes.
Preheat the Oven
- While the dough is rising, preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Shape the Pizza
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Add Toppings
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly on the crust, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top, followed by the sliced halal pepperoni and red pepper flakes.
Bake
- Place your pizza in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
Garnish and Serve
- Once cooked, remove the pizza from the oven, sprinkle it with fresh oregano and basil, and allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, swap out the pepperoni for vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms. Ensure your yeast is fresh for the best dough rise.
