Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by boiling water in a large pot. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set it aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), so it’s hot and ready for baking.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, grated Parmesan, eggs, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Grease a pie dish or a round baking pan with a little olive oil. Add the spaghetti mixture, spreading it evenly in the pan.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top to create a deliciously gooey crust.
  6. Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Once it’s out of the oven, let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if you’re feeling fancy.

Notes

To save time, you can prepare the spaghetti mixture the day before and store it in the refrigerator. Just bake right before serving. Make sure not to overcook the spaghetti; al dente is key!
