Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter and melted butter. Stir until well-mixed.
- Add the shredded cheese, flour, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Optionally, add herbs for extra flavor. Mix until a dough forms.
- Take small clumps of the dough and roll them into balls, about the size of a marble. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each ball.
- Flatten each ball gently to about 1/4 inch thick using a fork or your fingers.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and allow the crackers to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Enjoy with your favorite dips or on their own.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to one week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to three months. Reheat in the oven to restore crunch.
