Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Should be at room temperature, not melted.
  • 1 cup brown sugar For a richer flavor, consider using light brown sugar.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Feel free to swap for white chocolate if desired.
  • 1/2 cup colorful sprinkles Adds a cheerful touch to the cookies.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Incorporate the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this mixture into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and colorful sprinkles.
  6. Using a cookie scoop, drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, making sure to leave space for spreading.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
