Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time and mix well, followed by the vanilla extract. The batter should be smooth and creamy.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Spread the batter evenly into the greased baking pan.
Baking
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing them into squares.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for 1-2 weeks. For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped squares.
