  • Burger buns Lightly toasted if desired

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, use a fork or a masher to mash the drained black beans until they form a chunky paste.
  2. Add the breadcrumbs, BBQ sauce, diced onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the mashed black beans. Mix well until all components are blended together.
  3. Divide the mixture into equal portions (around 4-6, depending on your desired size) and shape them into patties.
  4. If the mixture feels too wet, sprinkle in a bit more breadcrumbs until it holds together better.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and heated through.
Assembly
  1. Toast your burger buns lightly on the same skillet if desired.
  2. Place your black bean patty on the bun and add your favorite toppings.
Serving
  1. Grab your loved ones, serve these fun and flavorful Smoky BBQ Black Bean Burgers, and enjoy!
