Ingredients

Meat Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef Ensure it's Halal
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup Sloppy Joe sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Casserole Topping
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese Divided for topping
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup milk

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onions until the meat is browned and the onions are translucent. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the beef mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
  6. In a bowl, combine the refrigerated biscuit dough and milk. Stir until just combined. Take spoonfuls of this mixture and dollop them over the cheese layer in the casserole dish until fully covered.
  7. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the biscuit topping is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. In the last 5 minutes of baking, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and return to the oven until melted.
  9. Remove from the oven, allow it to cool slightly, serve warm, and enjoy!
