Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Halal-friendly, can use rotisserie chicken.
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese Mozzarella or cheddar works well.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika For a spicy kick.
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • optional Chopped herbs For added freshness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. If you haven’t shredded your chicken yet, use leftover roasted chicken or quickly boil chicken breasts, allowing them to cool before shredding.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, flour, milk, eggs, grated cheese, baking powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until all the ingredients are well incorporated into a thick batter.
  4. Grease a round cake pan or an oven-safe dish. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing it out evenly with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few moments.
  3. Slice it like a cake, and serve warm.

Notes

Substitutions: Use rotisserie chicken for a time-saving option. Cheese can be swapped for a vegan alternative. Timing: Keep an eye on baking time, cover it with foil if it browns too fast. Ensure chicken is properly shredded to avoid uneven baking.
