Ingredients
  

Tart Base and Fillings
  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce Zesty variety preferred
  • 8 oz Brie cheese, sliced
Beef and Seasoning
  • 1 lb beef strips Use halal-certified if necessary
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • 1 large egg, beaten For egg wash along with 1 tbsp water

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil and season the beef strips with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to fit your tart pan. Place the pastry into the pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
Assembly
  1. Spread the cranberry sauce evenly over the bottom of the pastry, then layer with sliced Brie.
  2. Top with crispy beef strips and sprinkle with freshly chopped thyme.
  3. Brush the exposed edges of the pastry with the egg wash.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
  2. Let the tart cool for a few moments before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

Substitutions: Chicken or turkey strips can replace beef. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
