Ingredients
Method
Cook the Chicken
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they are browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Sauté the Vegetables
- In the same pan, add the chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Add the sliced mushrooms and continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes until they are soft.
Make the Sauce
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushroom mixture and stir for 1 minute. Gradually pour in the chicken broth while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
Add the Sour Cream
- Reduce the heat to low and stir in the sour cream. Add the cooked chicken back to the pan, mixing everything together until well combined and heated through.
Serve
- Serve your Rich Chicken Stroganoff over egg noodles or rice. Garnish it with fresh parsley if desired, and watch everyone indulge in this delightful meal!
Notes
For a thicker sauce, adjust the amount of flour or allow the sauce to simmer longer. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for about a month.
