Ingredients

For the Marinade
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
Main Ingredients
  • 2 pounds beef ribs Trim any excess fat for best flavor and texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and sesame oil. Whisk until the sugar dissolves and the ingredients blend well.
  2. Place the beef ribs in a large bowl or a resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Ensure the ribs are well coated. Cover the bowl or seal the bag and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or up to 2 hours in the fridge for maximum flavor.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill by heating it to medium-high.
  2. If baking, arrange the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil and pour a little of the leftover marinade over the ribs. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the ribs are tender.
  3. If grilling, cook the ribs for about 15-20 minutes, brushing them with marinade occasionally.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, allow the ribs to rest for about 5 minutes to lock in juices. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, replace soy sauce with tamari. Maple syrup can substitute honey for a different sweetness. Always let the ribs rest after cooking for best results.
