Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, chopped
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 leaves Lettuce leaves
  • 2 slices of bread

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by opening the can of tuna and draining the liquid. Place the tuna in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard to the bowl with the tuna. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Toss in the chopped celery and red onion. Mix everything thoroughly, ensuring each ingredient is well distributed.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste. Start with a pinch, then add more as needed.
  5. Lay one slice of bread on a clean cutting board. Place a couple of lettuce leaves on the bottom slice, then generously scoop the tuna mixture onto the lettuce.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread.
  7. You can cut the sandwich in half or quarters for easier handling, especially if you’re serving it at a gathering!

Notes

To make your sandwich even better, consider substitutions like Greek yogurt for mayonnaise or a milder mustard for kids. Letting the tuna salad sit in the fridge for 30 minutes can enhance the flavor.
