Ingredients

Noodles and Sauce
  • 8 oz noodles
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Choose halal-certified soy sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
Vegetables and Garnish
  • 1 cup vegetables (like bell peppers, carrots, or peas) Any combination of your favorite vegetables will work beautifully.
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • to taste sesame seeds For garnish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by boiling water in a large pot. Once boiling, add the noodles and cook according to the package instructions until just tender, usually about 4-6 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds or until fragrant.
  3. Toss in your chosen vegetables and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Return the cooked noodles to the pot, and pour in the soy sauce and brown sugar. Give everything a good mix, ensuring each noodle is coated with the sweet mixture.
  2. Stir in the sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Cook for an additional minute until everything is heated through.
Serving
  1. Dish out the noodles onto plates, garnish with additional sesame seeds and green onions if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

You can easily switch up the noodles; use rice noodles or whole-grain noodles for a healthier option. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze the noodles for up to a month.
