Preparation
- Finely dice the jalapeños and soften the cream cheese at room temperature.
Mixing the filling
- In a bowl, combine the diced jalapeños with the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined and set aside.
Cooking the burgers
- Form the ground beef into four equal-sized balls, being careful not to compress the meat too tightly.
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat, adding a dash of oil if desired.
- Place each meatball on the skillet and immediately smash it down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until crispy.
- Flip the smashed burgers and add a scoop of the jalapeño cream cheese mixture on top. Cover with a lid for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
Assembly
- Remove the patties from the skillet and place them in the toasted buns. Add your desired toppings like lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
- Dig in and enjoy the cheesy, spicy goodness!
