Ingredients

For the Apple Filling
  • 2 cups diced apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice This brightens the apple flavor
For the Bombs
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 can cooking spray To prevent sticking
  • 1 jar caramel sauce Optional, for drizzling on top

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated and set aside.
  2. Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Pinch the perforations together to create a solid sheet.
  3. Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into squares—aim for about 3x3 inches.
  4. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square. Be careful not to overfill it.
  5. Fold the corners of the dough squares over the apple filling, pinching the edges to seal them tightly.
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket and the apple pie bombs with cooking spray.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Place the bombs into the basket in a single layer.
  2. Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Once cooked, remove them from the air fryer, let them cool for a minute, and then drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

For variations, consider adding chopped nuts or raisins to the apple filling. Check cooking times around the 10-minute mark to avoid overcooking.
