Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated and set aside.
- Carefully unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface. Pinch the perforations together to create a solid sheet.
- Use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into squares—aim for about 3x3 inches.
- Place a spoonful of the apple mixture in the center of each square. Be careful not to overfill it.
- Fold the corners of the dough squares over the apple filling, pinching the edges to seal them tightly.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket and the apple pie bombs with cooking spray.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Place the bombs into the basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove them from the air fryer, let them cool for a minute, and then drizzle with caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
For variations, consider adding chopped nuts or raisins to the apple filling. Check cooking times around the 10-minute mark to avoid overcooking.
