  • 1 packet taco seasoning Look for a spice blend that suits your flavor preference.
  • 8 pieces taco shells Hard or soft, your choice!

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce Adds crispiness to your taco.
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes For a burst of freshness.
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese Creamy and rich, it’s everybody's favorite!
  • 1 cup sour cream Smooth, tangy goodness to balance the flavors.

Preparation of Ingredients
  1. Start by heating a non-stick skillet on medium-high heat.
  2. Add 1 lb of ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks (about 5-7 minutes).
Cook the Beef
  1. Once the beef is fully cooked, drain any excess grease.
  2. Add the taco seasoning packet along with the appropriate amount of water (as per packet instructions). Stir well to coat the meat and let it simmer for another 5 minutes until thickened.
Prepare Taco Shells
  1. While the beef simmers, take your taco shells and warm them up according to package instructions until they are nice and crispy.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Once the beef is ready and the shells are warmed, it's time to assemble your tacos!
  2. Start with a layer of seasoned beef in each shell, followed by shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a sprinkle of Cheddar cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
Finishing Touch
  1. Drizzle some salsa over your creation. Voilà! Your tacos are ready to be devoured!

Notes

Substitutions: Make the dish even heartier by substituting turkey or chicken for the ground beef, ensuring they are Halal-certified. Prep toppings in advance for efficient assembly. Ensure taco shells are not over-baked to prevent them from becoming too hard. Store components separately in the refrigerator if there are leftovers. Ground beef can last for up to 3-4 days. Reheat the beef in a skillet and warm shells in the oven.
