Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Make sure your strawberries are fresh and vibrant for the best results!
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon water

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold water. Remove the green tops (hulling) and slice them into halves or quarters, depending on your preference.
Cooking
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and water. Mix well until the strawberries are coated with sugar.
  2. Over medium heat, cook the mixture while stirring occasionally. Allow it to simmer gently for about 10 minutes.
  3. Use a fork or a potato masher to break up some of the strawberries while they’re cooking for a smoother sauce, or leave it as is for a chunkier texture.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Once your sauce achieves your desired consistency, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool slightly. Serve warm or refrigerate for later use.

Notes
