Ingredients

Garlic Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh garlic cloves, peeled and clean Choose firm garlic cloves with no soft spots.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 150°F (65°C). If your oven doesn’t go that low, leave the door slightly ajar.
  2. Spread the 2 cups of fresh garlic cloves evenly on a baking sheet.
Drying
  1. Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the garlic cloves dry for about 2 hours, monitoring to ensure they don’t burn. They should turn a light golden brown when done.
Blending
  1. Remove the dried garlic from the oven and let it cool completely, then transfer the cloves to a spice grinder or high-quality blender and pulse until it forms a fine powder.
Storage
  1. Transfer the garlic powder into an airtight container or a spice jar, and store it in a cool, dark place.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. It lasts up to a year and retains its flavor. Sprinkle directly into dishes as needed.
