Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (any pasta shape you prefer)
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) Use your choice of cheese.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain it and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until it’s nicely browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until they become fragrant and the onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes (with their juice), Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked pasta into the skillet, mixing until everything is well combined and heated through.
  6. If using cheese, sprinkle it on top and cover the skillet for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
  7. Serve your Homemade Beefaroni hot, and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter option, try using ground turkey or plant-based meat. You can also use whole grain or gluten-free pasta alternatives. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for about 2 months.
