  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Optional, for added flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish Add just before serving.

Preparation
  1. Start by peeling and slicing the ginger into thin pieces.
  2. Mince the garlic cloves finely.
Cooking
  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat, being careful not to let it smoke.
  2. Add the sliced ginger and minced garlic to the pot. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the vegetable or chicken broth and add the soy sauce if using. Stir well.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Bring the broth to a gentle simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes.
Serving
