Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, cleaned and sliced (button or cremini work well)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large skillet, add the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Allow the butter to melt and combine with the oil, creating a rich base.
  2. Add the minced garlic into the skillet. Sauté for about 1 minute until it becomes fragrant—be careful not to let it burn, as burnt garlic can taste bitter.
  3. Toss in the sliced mushrooms, ensuring they are well-coated with the garlic butter mixture. Stir occasionally and let them cook for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown and tender.
  4. Season the mushrooms with salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste. Stir in the chopped parsley just before serving to add freshness and a pop of color.
  5. Once cooked, transfer the Garlic Mushrooms to a serving dish. Enjoy them warm, either on their own or as a side dish!

Notes

For a variety of flavors, consider using shiitake or oyster mushrooms. For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with plant-based butter or use more olive oil. Pre-slicing mushrooms and garlic can save you time during cooking.
