Preparation
- If you're starting with homemade brownies, prepare and bake them according to your favorite recipe or follow package instructions. Let them cool completely before proceeding.
- In a small saucepan, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream over low heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and the chocolate is completely melted. Remove from heat and let it sit for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Crumble the cooled brownies into a large mixing bowl. Pour the ganache over the brownie crumbles and mix until everything is well combined. Use your hands to form small balls—about the size of a tablespoon—rolling them between your palms for a smooth finish.
- Once all your truffles are formed, choose your preferred coating. Roll each truffle in sprinkles or dust them lightly with cocoa powder until well coated.
- Place the coated truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up before serving.
Notes
These truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for up to three months. Allow to sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before serving for optimal enjoyment.
