  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed Trimmed before use
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup For the creamy base
  • 1/2 cup milk Can substitute with almond or coconut milk
  • 1 cup fried onion rings For topping
  • Salt and pepper to taste Seasoning to enhance flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Rinse the fresh green beans and trim the ends. Optionally blanch them in boiling water for 3-5 minutes, then drain.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup and milk, whisking until smooth.
  4. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Stir in the prepared green beans until they are well coated with the sauce.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the fried onion rings generously over the top.
  8. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until heated through and the onion rings are golden brown.
  9. Allow it to cool for a few moments before serving.

Notes

Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge before baking. Add 10 minutes to the baking time if cooking from chilled. Store leftovers in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
