Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
Add-ins
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing; it's okay if a few lumps remain!
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips to the batter, setting aside a few to sprinkle on top while cooking.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter.
  2. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, around 2-3 minutes, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side, about another 1-2 minutes.
  3. Repeat until all the batter is used and serve the pancakes warm with your desired toppings.

Notes

For even fluffiness, let your batter rest for about 5-10 minutes before cooking. You can experiment with substitutions like whole wheat flour or almond milk. Ensure a steady medium heat for even cooking.
