Method
Cooking the Oats
- Bring 1 cup of water or milk to a boil in a medium saucepan. Stir in 1 cup of rolled oats.
- Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats have absorbed most of the liquid and are creamy.
Incorporating Egg Whites
- Slowly pour in 1/2 cup of egg whites while continuously stirring to prevent scrambling.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the egg whites are fully cooked and the mixture is thickened to your liking.
Sweetening
- If desired, add 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup and 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon. Stir well to combine.
Serving
- Transfer your oatmeal into a bowl and top with your favorite fruits, nuts, or seeds. Enjoy!
Notes
