  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to make sure it’s hot and ready for your casserole.
  2. Slice the yellow squashes into thin rounds and chop the onion.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced squash, chopped onion, shredded cheese, and sour cream. Add salt and pepper to taste. Stir until everything is well-coated.
  4. Grease a baking dish with a little butter. Pour the squash mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with softened butter. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the squash.

Notes
