Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and water. Knead until smooth and elastic. Wrap it in a damp cloth and let it rest for about 20 minutes.
Prepare the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped vegetables, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Roll Out the Dough
- Divide the rested dough into two parts. Roll each part into a thin sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut them into squares (about 3 inches).
Fill the Wontons
- Place about a teaspoon of filling in the center of each square. Moisten the edges with water, fold over to create triangles, and seal tightly.
Cook the Wontons
- You can either boil, steam, or pan-fry your wontons. If boiling, cook until they float (about 5 minutes); for steaming, use a steamer basket for approximately 7-10 minutes; for pan-frying, heat some oil in a non-stick pan and fry until golden brown.
Serve
- Serve your Easy Vegan Wontons with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, store uncooked wontons in the freezer; they can be kept for up to 3 months. To reheat, simply increase cooking time without thawing.
