  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Can substitute with tamari for gluten-free option.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For marinating and cooking.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Enhances savory taste.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Provides a subtle smokiness.
  • to taste none salt Adjust based on preference.

  • optional none fresh herbs (parsley, thyme) For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Press the tofu by draining it and wrapping it in a clean towel, placing a heavy object on top for about 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Marination
  1. Once pressed, cut the tofu into cubes or slabs.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Toss the tofu in the marinade until well coated.
Baking
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the marinated tofu in a single layer.
  2. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through for even browning.
Serving
  1. Once golden and crispy, remove the tofu from the oven.
  2. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired and serve warm!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-5 days. Reheat using oven or skillet methods as described to retain crispiness.
