Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  4. In another mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, allowing each to fully incorporate before adding the next.
  6. Gradually mix in the orange juice and zest.
  7. Slowly fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

To keep the cake fresh, store in an airtight container for 2-3 days; refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for 3 months.
