- Pour the heavy cream into a mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer on medium-high speed to whisk the cream until soft peaks form, about 3-5 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract. Gently fold this mixture into the whipped cream, being careful not to deflate it.
- If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring to the mixture and gently fold until the desired color is reached.
- Transfer the creamy mixture into a serving dish or individual cups. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
- Before serving, sprinkle with crushed mint candies or chocolate mints for an added crunch and flavor burst.
Notes
For a lighter version, use whipped topping instead of heavy cream. Let the dessert sit in the fridge overnight for the best flavor. Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, covered to prevent flavor absorption. This dessert does not freeze well.
