Ingredients

Pasta and Seafood
  • 8 ounces pasta (your choice, but shells or rotini work great!)
  • 1 cup crab meat (fresh if possible, or canned)
Dressing
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Vegetables
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, finely chopped (any color for more visual appeal)
Seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Cooking Pasta
  1. Start by boiling water in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt and then your pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Preparing Ingredients
  1. While the pasta cooks, chop your celery and bell pepper. Aim for small, even pieces so they mix well with the pasta.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the cooked and cooled pasta, crab meat, mayonnaise, celery, bell peppers, and lemon juice. Use a spatula to gently fold the ingredients together until they’re well combined.
Seasoning Salad
  1. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the quantity based on your preference.
Chilling Salad
  1. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to help the flavors meld together.
Serving
  1. Before serving, give it one last stir. You can garnish it with fresh herbs like parsley if you desire. Enjoy chilled!

Notes

For a Halal-friendly option, use imitation crab meat. Make this salad a day ahead for optimal flavor. Don't overcook the pasta!
