  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon instant yeast
Wet Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups warm water Make sure it's not too hot.
Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and instant yeast. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  2. Gradually add warm water to the dry ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  4. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for 12 to 18 hours at room temperature.
Baking
  1. About 30 minutes before the dough has finished rising, preheat your Dutch oven at 450°F (230°C).
  2. Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface, shape it into a ball, and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
  3. Carefully place the dough inside the preheated Dutch oven, cover with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  5. Remove the bread from the Dutch oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
