  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter completely, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.

  4. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined to avoid overmixing.
  6. If desired, fold in chopped nuts.
  7. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan and pour the brownie batter in, spreading it evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
