Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (Halal)
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups pizza sauce Use Halal certified if needed.
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (e.g., rotini or penne) Cooked al dente.
  • 1 cup Halal pepperoni slices
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onion together until the meat is no longer pink, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onions with pizza sauce, cooked pasta, pepperoni, half of the mozzarella, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly coated.
  3. Layer the mixture into your Crock-Pot, starting with half of the mixture, followed by half of the remaining mozzarella cheese. Repeat with the rest of the mixture and finish with the last of the cheese.
  4. Set your Crock-Pot to low and let the casserole cook for about 4-6 hours until everything is heated through and the cheese is bubbly.
  5. Once done, serve it warm with a side of garlic bread or a fresh salad.

Notes

Make sure to cook the pasta al dente since it will continue to cook in the Crock-Pot. Feel free to swap the ground beef for ground chicken or turkey for a leaner option. Avoid soggy pasta by ensuring it's slightly undercooked.
