  • 1 lb beef (sliced thinly) Choose cuts like flank steak or sirloin for the best results.
  • 2 cups broccoli florets Add these 30 minutes before serving.
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup beef broth Ensure it's Halal-compliant if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch For thickening the sauce, can add more later if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
For Serving
  • Cooked rice Serve the dish over a bed of fluffy cooked rice.

Preparation
  1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain for extra tenderness.
  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Place the sliced beef at the bottom of the crock pot and pour the sauce over it, ensuring even coverage.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
  2. About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli florets, stir gently, and replace the lid.
Serving
  1. Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve the beef and broccoli over rice.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a saucepan or microwave, adding water if needed to retain sauce consistency.
