  • 2 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be replaced with half and half or coconut milk for a lighter version.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Avoid overcooking as it can become bitter.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Fresh basil for garnish
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and stir well, allowing the mixture to bubble and combine with the aromatic base. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  4. Lower the heat and gently stir in the heavy cream, simmering for about 5 minutes to meld all the flavors.
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  6. Toss in your cooked pasta of choice and mix it well with the sauce, or serve the sauce over the pasta. Garnish with fresh basil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

This Creamy Tomato Pasta Sauce can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Reheat gently over low heat, adding a splash of water or additional cream if needed.
