  • 1 pound large mushrooms
  • 8 ounces crab meat (ensure it’s Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and set the caps aside.
  3. Finely chop the stems and set aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, chopped mushroom stems, cream cheese, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, parsley, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  5. Spoon the creamy crab filling generously into each mushroom cap, pressing gently to pack the mixture.
  6. Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the mushrooms are tender.

Notes

For substitutions, you can use imitation crab meat. Bake until golden brown to retain juiciness. Avoid overloading mushrooms with filling.
