Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 lbs snow crab legs (or king crab legs) Thawed if frozen
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning (halal-friendly)
  • pieces Fresh lemon wedges for serving
  • tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by thawing your crab legs if they are frozen. Place them in a colander under cool running water for about 15-20 minutes.
Cooking
  1. In a large pot, fill it with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add some Old Bay seasoning if desired.
  2. Once the water is boiling, carefully add the crab legs. Cover the pot and steam for about 5-7 minutes until they are heated through.
  3. While the crab legs are steaming, melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and lemon juice, cooking until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Avoid burning the garlic.
  4. Once the crab legs are done steaming, remove them from the pot and arrange them on a platter. Drizzle the garlic butter over the legs and sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  5. Serve with lemon wedges on the side and enjoy with crab crackers and seafood forks.

Notes

Use a seafood cracker for tough shells. Timing is key: do not overcook the crab legs. Consider adding different seasonings like Cajun spice or paprika for a twist. For dietary preferences, substitute butter with vegan options if needed.
