Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Use softened butter for a smoother mixture.
  • 1 large egg Can be substituted with applesauce or flaxseed mixture for vegan option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate sauce for dipping Optional, for an extra flavor punch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light in color.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are perfectly okay!
  6. Using your hands or a spoon, portion the dough into fry-like shapes and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each for spreading.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly soft.
  2. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
  1. Drizzle with chocolate sauce or serve with a side for dipping. Enjoy your delicious Cookie Fries!

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake them by a minute or two. Can add chocolate chips for an extra chocolatey delight. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to a month.
