Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Filling and Topping
  • 1/2 cup cookie butter
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for icing)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix them thoroughly.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk and melted butter. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  4. Roll Out Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll it out into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Spread Cookie Butter: Evenly spread the cookie butter over the rolled-out dough and sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  6. Roll it Up: Starting from one end, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.
  7. Cut into Rolls: Slice the log into 1-inch thick rolls and arrange them in a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake: Place the rolls in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Prepare Icing: While the rolls are baking, mix together the powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of milk to make the icing.
  10. Drizzle Icing: Once the rolls are out of the oven, drizzle the icing over the warm rolls and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a nut-free version, use sunflower butter instead of cookie butter. Ensure that your ingredients are at room temperature for consistent baking results. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days or freeze for up to a month.
